This was a fun project, even though our method was far from authentic batik. :) Raina @ Mamacita Spins The Globehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08686405668797883267noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7175747350535276582.post-6975239994615685402012-08-20T23:04:25.575-04:002012-08-20T23:04:25.575-04:00Turned out beautiful! We are working on a batik project as well right now- though I'm unsure of what the results will look like:).Beckyhttp://www.kidworldcitizen.orgnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7175747350535276582.post-80165701062498672232012-08-20T17:59:55.706-04:002012-08-20T17:59:55.706-04:00Thanks! I did read that kool aid only works on animal derived fibers, but not before I figured out that it didn't work ;) This fabric that we bought would work well for screen printing I think too, because our table cloth looks exactly like our fabrics :) The paint went right through. I'm glad I bought extra fabric, I have a few ideas for future projects, including trying this same method to create a smaller vertically oriented piece for my living room wall. For future reference, kool-aid only works on animal-derived fibers (wool, silk, etc.) and you can get cheap silk scarves online from dharma trading. But your end result is pretty fabulous anyway.Andreahttp://www.remainsofday.blogspot.comnoreply@blogger.com
